I wonder whether, when you are done with this series, you might be interested in debating me on the topic(s) Purgatory, Sola Scriptura, Immaculate Conception, and/or Sola Fide? My background is a rather different from Lujack.See my blog athttp://turretinfan.blogspot.com/
We will certainly consider your requests for debate. However, since you are a Calvinist, we would probably want to add a few of your doctrines to the mix. The 5 doctrines that form TULIP might be one approach. We will have to study your material, obviously we want someone who can present a stronger case than what we have seen thus far in these debates.
Here is what I propose. Another series of 10 Debates.1) Purgatory2) Total Depravity3) Sola Scriptura4) Unconditional Election5) The Immaculate Conception6) Limited Atonement7) Sola Fide8) Irresistible Grace9) Once Saved, always saved.10) Perseverance of the SaintsYou agree?
Sorry for my slow reply. In general, those seem like fine topics. I'm not sure what you see to be the difference between 9 and 10. Perhaps the 9th could be papal infallibility instead?
The difference between 9 and 10 is that we reject the Calvinist definition of perseverence ...but Papal infallibility is fine.
Ok - sounds good. I look forward to working out the logistics with you in terms of times and dates etc.
It looks like mid-October to get this started. That OK with you?
Sounds good. What will the format be?Here's one idea (obviously, who is affirmative and who is negative will vary from debate to debate):Affirmative ConstructiveNeg cross-examination of AffirmativeNegative ConstructiveAff cross-examination of NegativeNegative RebuttalAffirmative RebuttalNegative ConclusionAffirmative Conclusion- TurretinFan
